Always store, within your phone, the telephone numbers of the veterinary clinics that your client's pets are registered at and also a couple more in case of emergency. Keep the numbers updated and be aware of all of the opening times (they do change!).
Also, join any local Facebook 'Lost Dog' groups and pages as this could prove invaluable should the unthinkable happen and a client's dog gets distracted on a walk and you are struggling to locate it.
This may seem a really basic and common sense tip but it is often overlooked and your key priority should be to know exactly what to do and have the tools available to do it should you need to.
Emergencies CAN occur and the time to plan for them is before they potentially happen.
