The Most And Least Playful Dog Breeds

A dog's playfulness incorporates factors such as a willingness to chase objects such as balls or Frisbee's or tug on a toy.

Behaviorists from the University of California-Davis collated information from experts that ranked different breeds on their level of playfulness.

Here is a summary of their original results based around the playfulness of the more commonly known breeds.

Just to be clear, I'm listing commonly known breeds as opposed to common in numbers of dogs of that breed that exist worldwide.

And just to be doubly clear, your own dog may not be ranked as playful as you feel it is but the study compares general characteristics on an opposed to other breeds basis.
